How does promotion back to SGT work, if you meet the necessary requirements, after a demotion due to a Field Grade Article 15?

Demotion from E5P to SPC. I understand your time in grade resets, with that said how does promotion back to SGT work if you meet the necessary requirements? Do you still have to meet the TIG requirements? Waiver?

If you look at the reg you'll see that reductions are not eligible for waivers. In addition, reduced Soldiers have to contend with RCP for an E4 which is 8 years. If their ETS exceeds their RCP, their ETS will be changed.

SGT (Join to see) yes it would. Unless the Soldier is past their RCP then their ETS is 6 months later

I would refer you to 600-8-19 and 25-10

You would have to meet TIS and TIG requirement. You will not be able to receive a waiver and must be recommended by your command.
