SGT Jamarl Jones 4472909 <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>I got out as an E-5 in 2013 with 5 years on AD (plus 3 years IRR). RCP for E-4 is 8 years. How does this affect my options to get back in? Let&#39;s suppose I want an MOS that has a 6 year standard enlistment contract. Could I take such a contract? Or would I only be able to take a 3 year contract based on my AFS and RCP? How does RCP affect Prior Service enlistments? 2019-03-22T11:02:20-04:00 SGT Jamarl Jones 4472909 <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>I got out as an E-5 in 2013 with 5 years on AD (plus 3 years IRR). Only your active duty time counts towards RCP. Talk to your recruiter able the amount of time you can enlist. Also, you may have to come back in at your previous MOS at the needs of the Army. This saves the Army money if they don’t have to re-train you. Talk to your recruiter so you can get the best answer for your situation. Good luck to you.... If they place you in your current rank you&#39;ll have one year to attend BLC. They could reduce you and let you enlist 6 years with an exception for RCP. It&#39;s all what the Army needs. MEPS can arrange all kind of exceptions based on the needs of the Army.
