How does the process work in regards to which aircraft you are assigned to for 15W?

When you first become a 15W, you learn the RQ-7B Shadow platform. Once passing the course, you may be eligible to enter the Gray Eagle course. You can become qualified on the Shadow, leave the school house to a Shadow platoon and then go back to become Gray Eagle qualified.

The school house decides randomly after you finish common core. Most get shadow, not very many get grey eagle. currently been shadow for 2 years now

If you are airborne in contract then you will be shadow. If you are national guard you will be shadow. Most others get gray eagle. If you are 160th you will be gray eagle. Hunter platform is being phased out and anyone who is hunter is going to be trained on the gray eagle. More people are being trained on the gray eagle now because more and more gray eagle units are starting to stand up. So if you're not airborne or national guard you'll most likely be trained on the gray eagle platform
