It was a great job with many rewarding experiences, similar in some aspects to the Army. That said, I was a rotor wing Airline Transport Pilot with over 7000 flight hours when I was hired. The unit I flew with preferred hiring professional pilots as opposed to training law enforcement officers to fly. Most police flight units train law enforcement officers to fly. If you can get your civilian certificates before applying I&#39;m sure it would make you stand out as a candidate. Good luck.
