how earley can i recieve my DD-214?

I will be applying for a few police departments and the will need my DD-214 to do the backfround check. i already have my statment of service but to finish my application process i need the form. is there a way i can request my DD-214 before my ETS date.

You won’t get your DD214 until your actual ETS date because you’re still on active duty.

No, and they don't require it to check anything else in your background, but your character of service, which wouldn't be final until the date of your ETS.

No. and they can't require a copy of a DD 214 in order to do your background check when you are still officially on Active Duty (in fact, if you have terminal leave, you won't get it until you're leave is finished). They can run a background without the 214, and they can contact appropriate people to verify that you are projected to get an honorable in the meantime.
