So the recruiter said I could go back in as an MP and reclass during my ETS window... I don’t believe him. I was an 88N in the Marines and when I hopped over my options were 92F, 91B, 88M and 13B the part that you cAn reclass during your ets window is true, but also depends on a variety of things.... if you were yo get promoted or even pick up your “P” status could affect that... think if you just want to get back in, I would rejoin and pick from whatever mos’ they have and try to reclass... embrace the suck haha SGT Private RallyPoint Member Tue, 10 Dec 2019 23:47:05 -0500 2019-12-10T23:47:05-05:00 Response by SFC Private RallyPoint Member made Dec 11 at 2019 12:17 AM https://www.rallypoint.com/answers/how-easy-is-it-to-reclass-at-the-time-of-reenlistment?n=5330973&urlhash=5330973

You could reclass at your next reenlistment window, but there are more class seats available to the recruiting side than the reclass side. You don't even have to be near your ETS, you can reclass once you are on station one year. It really just depends what you want to reclass into. In essence, the Army tells those who served, got out, and want to come back into active duty, "here is what's for you, take it or leave it!" Priority goes to whatever your prior MOS is. Unless things have changed, recruiters don't get much credit for bringing in prior service and for the Army, the view is that you are the one in need of them, not the other way around; that's preserved for non-prior service prospects.

So, at this moment you can either go as an MP, which you are already MOSQ and wont cost a penny to Uncle Sam to retrain you, or "take a knee" and wait until there is something else the Army might be willing to retrain you. Is all up to you and all options are valid in my playbook.

Best of lucks on your future endeavors! You’ll need to wait it out until your reenlistment window opens up (15 months prior to ETS). At which point, your options open up and reclassifying out of your PMOS would be no problem....Option 3: the Army Training Reenlistment Option. Unbalanced MOS’s like Crypto-Linguists and anything communications related would work out best, but any MOS is possible. If none of this sounds appealing, then you can try your luck with one of the application MOS’s. Stay vigilant and make that Recruiter work for you. Regardless of prior service, the Army needs people like you and will work to keep you as well. God speed.
