I’ve heard that its extremely competitive for direct commission and was wondering if it was competitive as well for people going to OCS? How hard is it to get a 17A Cyber Operation Officer MOS as a enlisted reservist going officer? 2021-08-17T11:55:06-04:00 SPC Onel Cruz 7190444

Currently a 25B trying to go to OCS and hopefully landing the 17A MOS. The only took 59 out of 3335 ROTC cadets. I don't have the stats for OCS but I'd have to assume they would be similar.
If they have interviews for the different branches for OCS, definitely interview and be as professional as possible. Also have some working knowledge of common programming languages. All you need is for a unit(typically the commander) to agree to take you in as a 17A. Its not a competition per se if you already have a slot lined up with a unit. Active OCS and Active ROTC is a competition and is divided based on OML.
