You had your chance and the Army may look at it as they already wasted a bunch of money on you, so why take another chance? Your separation code is short-hand for why you were chaptered out. Codes that would make you ineligible to return to service:: GKS (AWOL), GLF (drug use), and GMB (character or behavior disorder). Then check block 27 for your re-enlistment code. These vary by service. A code of RE-1 means you’re eligible to re-enlist. RE-3 requires a waiver. Have you applied for Veteran’s benefits through the VA? That’s a good way to find out what your eligibility for benefits that you may be entitled to are.

If you really want, and are ready, to get back in go to the recruiting offices for each of the services and the regular, reserve and guard components. You'll need your DD214. Did you finish your 25 Romeo AIT? It’s a very small career field so you might need to come back to a different MOS/AFRC

You can appeal your discharge through the Army Discharge Review Board or through the Board of Corrections of Military Records.Either approach is a long haul. You’ll need to demonstrate why you feel your original discharge was unwarranted. Tough, but not impossible.

Your first step, though, is to do a no bullshit self-assessment of your own Be, Know, Do of when you were chaptered and where you are now. Are you really ready to come back and serve? If you are, you may DM this retired 25Z4H for additional assistance. Good luck.
