SGT Sebastian S. 5456134

Hi, everyone!

I'm not very versed on how the Reserves operate, hence the question. I'm currently in school; I will graduate this December and then go to law school the following fall.

I was wondering if it was possible to join a TPU unit, then go AGR after I graduate and before I go to law school (the window in-between is about 8 months) and then back to TPU while in law school.

I have a gut feeling that transferring back and forth this fast is not possible, so please feel free to just say it's not possible if it is so.

I appreciate everyone's time! How hard is it to transfer from TPU to AGR and back? 2020-01-18T14:25:51-05:00 SGT Sebastian S. 5456134

Hi, everyone!

I'm not very versed on how the Reserves operate, hence the question. You have to apply to it, be selected over the other applicants, and then activate at the start date and transfer to wherever that position is located. The tour is three years. Afterwards, you apply for another tour or transfer back to a TPU. Honestly, if you're looking to be active duty for three years, just go to a Regular Army recruiter. You'll get more choices out of it, and you don't have to worry about competing for a slot and not getting selected. My answer is most likely not. If you do, there is the very real chance of deployment.
