Hero to Zero in 30 days. You gotta keep up with the changes you are missing during your tour. I was also doing pretty the same job though as when I went into recruiting. I didn't envy some of the combat arms guys. Some of them went into recruiting as E-5 (sometimes E-4) team leaders and would sometimes leave as an E-7 going to a PSG position. Some things had changed but for the most part its just a matter of swallowing your pride and asking for help on things you need refreshing on. However, for those that went through the corporal recruiting program and left as SSG's, it was a huge adjustment. Overall it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. There will be a class in Nov at Fort Bragg as well by the PMs to help you undestand terminology and navigate the system. Best wishes. Quartermasters !
