How hard is the chapter process for an EOD failout?

Im going on 5th month in the army and I absolutely love it so far. That being said I wasn't mentally prepared for how hard eod ait was and I failed out. I have been a holdover for 6 weeks waiting on an mos and I was finally told I would be a 91b.It's my understanding if I were to opt for a chapter I can reenlist in 6 months to an mos of choice is this correct and how long of a process is it?

Suck it up and stick it out. You might learn something new. Getting into mechanics is no a bad idea, you will have a good skill when you get out. Put your nose to the grind stone and get to work. One thing about life, if you don't get your own way, you can't always quit.

If you take a chapter, your Re-enlistment code might prevent you from ever coming back in. Also if it requires a waiver, that could be denied as well. Not a ton of EOD jobs out there but quite a lot of transportation jobs available

SGM Frazier is correct wether or not you will be able to enlist again will be dependent on your RE code and it will still be a 6 mo wait from discharge date and a waiver that that could be denied. If they did approve the waiver when it came down to pick jobs it will be a take it or leave it deal. Could be 10 jobs available could be one. I strongly suggest that you take the 91b get the great certs, and if you dont like that job at the end of your contract re-enlist to reclass. You should still have good options at your rank.

If you don't like 91B you can always try to change when you re-up in a few years.

PVT Private RallyPoint Member In life, we all make mistakes, and have failures. Do not make another mistake by going the chapter route. Apply yourself and be the best 91B in the Army. Again, apply yourself and be the best. If you are looking for validation to quit, you will not find it.

I've met a few 91's, quite literally we don't go anywhere without them. You'll learn how to crank wrenches on vehicles you were trained for and a few you weren't. It could provide you with a backup Civilian job. On top of that the way i understand it, promotion opportunities are decent to high depending on your unit.

Yeah man. Your best option if you're interested in being in the Army is to just to suck it up and continue serving. You'll be discharged for, "failure to complete academic course" and you'll likely get an uncharacterized discharge and a RE 3 code, and that'll require you a waiver to enlist and without that waiver you'll be denied of service. Also, in situations where you need to acquire a waiver you also have to submit a waiver for an MOS, and it's a good chance they'll attempt to assign you to the course that you failed out of. Get out there and grind and just do your best! Good luck.

Do not Chapter out. Very likely you will require a waiver after a two year wait!!! Do not ruin yourself by making that mistake. Take what they offer you, make the best of it, and try to reclassify when it comes time to re-enlist!
