The status of your location and your gaining unit at the time you finish AIT will determine the way your losing unit processes you SFC Private RallyPoint Member Wed, 26 Aug 2020 21:59:23 -0400 2020-08-26T21:59:23-04:00 Response by SGT Private RallyPoint Member made Aug 27 at 2020 7:14 PM https://www.rallypoint.com/answers/how-has-covid-procedures-changed-reporting-to-first-duty-station-after-army-ait?n=6252080&urlhash=6252080

After I graduated AIT, national guard and army reserves were able to go home that same day. Everyone else it depended on where you were stationed. My battles that went to Korea stayed an extra 2-3 weeks after graduation. I'm stationed at Fort Hood and stayed 4-5 weeks. The reason was Fort Riley required sterile transportation and I had to wait for our bus to get full. Ummmm my battles that went to Bliss, Hood, and Carson also left about 4 weeks after graduation.

All that being said, it depends on where you're going and what that duty station requires. My battles that went to Hood didn't have to quarantine. I went to Riley and was required to quarantine for 7 days. Fort Stewart required 14 days quarantine but my battles left the day of graduation. Hope this helps some. If you have any more questions let me know. Expect that if the duty station is CONUS you are expected to travel by POV for the most part, but since you are reporting to your first duty station it will be some sort of ground transportation., likely a bus that is half-filled one SM per seat, etc. There will most likely be some sort of controlled monitoring period upon arrival before you can start in processing and are able to freely move about the installation and local area. I've had the experience of going TDY during everything that's going on and I had to drive to the location in my POV, upon arrival immediately get tested for COVID, and then spend 14days in close monitoring and be tested again in order to get out of close monitoring. Restrictions were different from the TDY location to my home station. SSG Private RallyPoint Member Fri, 28 Aug 2020 15:59:24 -0400 2020-08-28T15:59:24-04:00 2020-08-26T19:48:31-04:00
