How is 1st bct 101st as an infantryman?

I wasn't an infantryman there but I will say I found my time with 1/101st to be some of the best. You'll have some great leaders and mentors. And let's not forget the best unit patch in the Army.

Bastogne is a good unit, every unit has its ups and downs it’s what you make of it I love 101 I served in the RAKKASAN’S and STRIKE just show up with a good attitude and get after it you will be fine stud

Good unit for a grunt. The base has been upgraded a lot in the last 20 years, so the on post facilities are good, they weren't terrible in the 80's/early 90's. A fairly high operational Tempo, so you train a lot and get deployed a lot.
If you like the outdoors, Land Between the Lakes in next door. Fishing and Hunting is good and Nashville is about an hour away.

When they were breaking apart 4th BCT there they grafted many of our units into 1st including the command. No Slack has always been pretty squared away even if some of their unit buildings are the oldest on base (a mixture of 1sts current and some of 2nds old buildings). Only time Campbell is bad is when they decide to cross pollinate command structures from other divisions which haven't deployed in a while & you are just coming back from one. Leadership will be all hard charging & not understand why you want to see your family more than 2 days a week.

1st BCT is really vague. There's a lot of room for error when you consider the number of units and leaders in a BCT. I was 2/506 Currahee, and it was an alright unit, but from what I heard from some of the guys, it was way better than some of the others. Just happy I wasn't a Rokassan**(sp).
