How is A.L.S.E. School (Aviation Life Support Equipment)?

I have a pretty decent understanding of the job that an A.L.S.E. (Aviation life support equipment) guy does but how is the school itself? I know it's at Ft. Rucker, Alabama but I was wondering if I could get anymore info on it now from people who've gone or taught it. Examples such as what are the hours like, is there weekends off, do I need a car there? Anything would help.

A.L.S.E aviation live support equipment , you learn how to repair the pilot's gear that is the bottom line

You weekend will be off you will go to school from 0900 to maybe 16:30, is nothing like your AIT , it is a relax emviroment, where you could learn without people screaming at you, you will have classmate Warrant officer

I wouldn't recommend driving there if you're going from JBLM to Alabama, something that I really don't have to mention (unless you really want to). If anything, I would get with S-3 and see about getting a rental while you're down there. It'll be a great course for you to attend, I've never been. The guys in my unit that have been really enjoy it now, and it looks good if you decide to get out and need a job. Have fun there!!

A car would help since there's not much in the local area but yea you get weekends off and if you're there during a 4 day you'll get that too. The hours a pretty legit. It's not a hard course at all, complete gentlemens course. You'll be treated like a grown up. A lot of useful information but there's a lot you won't get taught also that you'll pick up while running a shop. Also you'll qualify for the expert field seamstress badge which is a pretty tough one to get haha
