<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Depending on your first assignment, you’ll be trained on one of three howitzers: M119A3 (105mm towed), M777A2 (155mm towed), or M109A6 (155mm self propelled). You’ll spent a lot of time in the motorpool learning to properly PMCS your howitzer, theory of operation, breech disassembly, reassembly, and functions checks. Additionally, you’ll be trained as a #1 man (in layman’s terms, a loader). Your section will learn to occupy your howitzer in accordance with the appropriate technical manual. Tasks during occupation include setting up primary and alternate aiming references (collimator and aiming posts) and erecting a camouflage net for rowed pieces. Your culminating training event will have you conducting a LFX where you will fire a number of live rounds. <br /><br />As a side note, I love being an artilleryman. I hope that you’re the kind of motivated go-getter that the fires community needs in our ranks.1SG Private RallyPoint MemberWed, 16 Jan 2019 15:06:51 -05002019-01-16T15:06:51-05:00Response by SPC Private RallyPoint Member made Jan 18 at 2019 11:44 PM

<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>It is what you make it. It can either be really shitty or can be really good. Just depends on how you take it. I was a reclass myself.SPC Private RallyPoint MemberFri, 18 Jan 2019 23:44:15 -05002019-01-18T23:44:15-05:00Response by SSG Private RallyPoint Member made Jan 21 at 2019 7:43 PM

<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Learn as much as you can about 4513's, crew serve weapons and shell fuze combo's. Don't sit around. Grab a TM on the weapon system you will be falling in on. Read it! Any knowledge will help when you get to your gun.SSG Private RallyPoint MemberMon, 21 Jan 2019 19:43:52 -05002019-01-21T19:43:52-05:00Response by SPC Private RallyPoint Member made Mar 8 at 2019 10:02 AM

<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>It’s ok, depending who trains you, I had good instructors who were very knowledgeable and trained is well. If you are really into it then look up manuals like TM they usually start with 10-... FM 6-50 is a good manual to read.SPC Private RallyPoint MemberFri, 08 Mar 2019 10:02:46 -05002019-03-08T10:02:46-05:00Response by SGT Private RallyPoint Member made Apr 22 at 2019 4:12 PM
