Plus I watch what I eat, and it helps that I don&#39;t eat like a ravenous beast in my early days. Tuesday I do a circuit drill (10 p/u, 10 s/u, 10 squats, and 5 pullups) for 20 minutes. Wednesday I 30/60&#39;s on the track. Thursday is swimming laps and Friday is whatver I feel like doing. Not as in shape as I used to be but it keeps me in shape enough and happy. I hope I don&#39;t run into you in a dark alley. I lift also. I try to lift 5 times a week and do cardio anywhere from 20-40 mins five times a week also. I will sometimes ruck in place of lifting. I don&#39;t want to get huge but want to stay slim and strong. It works pretty good. I don&#39;t have an impressive max but I will go all day when it comes to PT. Recovering from a small surgery so I can breath better when running. I did a P90x3 cycle a few months ago and have been walking and or running up until the surgery. I'll be doing another P90X cycle after the recovery is complete and I'll continue running for distance and hiking as much as I can the rest of the year. Although, I may skip the P90X and join the local Krav Maga studio. Some days we will stop in areas to conduct circuit training, such as pulls, sit-ups, and push-up. On my own I go to the gym during lunch for weigh training and at least three times a week I will run on my own. I do all this but I always watch what I eat; try my best to eat health and of course push away from the table. So, I have been working myself back in slowly. <br /><br />MWF- Short slow run in the morning, Brazillian Jiu Jitsu in the evening (when I can make it)<br />TTh- Plyometrics and bodyweight resistance, BJJ in the evening (when I can make it)<br />Sa-trail ride if I am in town (mountan bike)<br /><br />Some days I will kick it around locally on my bike just to stretch my legs out. I have not done this much since surgery because my shoulder still gets crampy after a little bit. I have just started the two times a day routine this past week. The morning is for the APFT and basic fitness. The BJJ is for stress relief and fun. I will probably start Muay Thai in the coming weeks since the class is at the same time as my son's BJJ....if I can find the energy. <br /><br />Since surgery, I am finding it harder to get to the intensity that I lose the most weight/improve composition the most...but it is slowly coming back. Nice to know what others are doing. No matter your age or status, studies have shown the beneficial effect of exercise. Something is better than nothing. <br /><br />Also as CW4 Karen Tom was saying diet is important too. I was into the low carb fad to lose weight, but have recently learned with the implementation of the weight program, you need some carbs for energy. The key I have found was finding the smart carbs to have. I love sweet potatoes vs. white potatoes and brown rice and quinoa. <br /><br />Have a great day everyone and stay healthy! I like to troll for fish so I do multiple laps (13 acre lake.) Last year I spent 9 days in the VA hospital in Portland, OR. and lost 46 pounds in the process so now I walk or limp as much as I can, or I will ride a bike for about an hour with at least one break to keep from overdoing it. With back pain from degenerating discs in the lumbar area some things are more difficult than others. I start physical therapy, again (4x), to correct or improve my mobility. I hope it works better this time than in has in the past. Wish me well.
