Are the time between March 25 and April 18 considered unpaid leave days? Would I be in any trouble for not reporting prior to the 18th? However, you can report early than stated on your orders. The important issue is to not go beyond your reporting date or incur on a negative days of leave balance without proper authorization.

Congrats on your completion of training and best of lucks on your future endeavors! Some of that time will be PCS travel days as well. Leave is always paid, I'm not sure where you got this idea of unpaid leave days.
If you fail to report on time then yes you could certainly be in trouble, but usually they'll just charge you extra leave. But if you're a reclass and you need more leave it's an easy conversation and change with your career counselor SFC Private RallyPoint Member Wed, 29 Jan 2020 15:56:28 -0500 2020-01-29T15:56:28-05:00 Response by CW2 Private RallyPoint Member made Jan 29 at 2020 5:13 PM https://www.rallypoint.com/answers/how-is-the-time-counted-between-my-ait-graduation-date-and-reporting-date-for-my-first-duty-station?n=5497172&urlhash=5497172

They are chargeable leave minus the amount of days it takes you to get there. 350 miles=1 travel day. You can sign in early if you don't want to use that much leave. I am not even sure the Army has such a thing as unpaid leave. What you have is basically 23 days of leave from which to leave Ft Sam and arrive at your new duty station. Likely your orders say how much is PCS and how much is your actually burning of personal leave.

You have that amount but do not have to take that full amount. SSG Brian G. How many days of leave are you taking? Your leave form will say the day you need to actually report. The day on you orders is the last possible day you should report to the unit coming from AIT. If you don't want to take leave you need to arrive at your duty station earlier than your report date. If you take the entire time and don't have leave to cover it your leave will go negative.
