How do you feel about non-combat arms in all branches forgetting their core factor that no matter what job you have you are a "Soldier", "Marine", "Airman", and Sailor first and foremost. many forget this because they have desk jobs while other keep <br />themselves constantly trained. We need now more than ever with the growing threats and the digital age to keep our borders and those of our allies safe from opposition. I have personally seen individual NCOs in all of the different branches feel the need to be lazy and not take time to do sergeants time training while these instances may be contained to certain individuals we do not need that mentality in the military, we are the forefront of our country and it's defense and must never forget that. A quote comes to mind “Somewhere he is out there training while I am not, and when we meet, he will win.” <br /><br />If we don't make sure all juniors are trained properly we lose our edge and in the end anyone can lose a battle no matter the scale if they don't keep their skills properly honed. I say damn the sequestration, we must not pull small arguments such as the m855 v.s. the m855a1 or other simple matters such as uniforms we need training and to make sure it is disseminated at all levels. There is NO EXCUSE for Officers, NCOs, and juniors that choose not to or will not do their job they need to be sent on their way if they refuse to do their basic duties as such same of all ranks and branches. It has shamed me to see some non-combat arm individuals upset because they had to go to a range day or for some they are afraid of shooting, allowing a decline in their skills for proficiency. (Again mind you these are isolated cases, however I am sure there are more out there.) do you run through all of your warrior tasks and battle-focused drills each year? I do need time. In my mind the biggest travesty is how much time I have to spend on mandatory crap that makes someone feel better that they did something in the aftermath of the latest screw up. <br /><br />We need to pay attention to stuff that is important.
