Anyone can volunteer any time to try out for RASP. While you’re at Basic volunteer for Airborne. At Airborne volunteer for RASP. If you don’t get Airborne, volunteer for RASP at your first unit.Response by SFC Private RallyPoint Member made Aug 23 at 2020 12:22 AM2020-08-23T00:22:22-04:002020-08-23T00:22:22-04:00SSG Private RallyPoint Member6235398<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>When I was in basic training, there were many chances as an infantryman to volunteer for Airborne, RASP, or SF. I believe those who had 250-270 APFT scores were talked to about Airborne or RASP and those with 270-300+ were talked to about SF.Response by SSG Private RallyPoint Member made Aug 23 at 2020 4:07 AM2020-08-23T04:07:28-04:002020-08-23T04:07:28-04:00SPC Private RallyPoint Member6235775<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>While I was in osut ranger cadre came and took volunteers toward the end of the cycle, they didn't even check pt scores or anythingResponse by SPC Private RallyPoint Member made Aug 23 at 2020 7:15 AM2020-08-23T07:15:33-04:002020-08-23T07:15:33-04:00SGT Private RallyPoint Member6236317<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Volunteer for RASP if the ranger liaison shows up. Rangers normally do sales pitches at AIT's, sign up, that way if not selected you can lose.Response by SGM Bill Frazer made Aug 23 at 2020 3:52 PM2020-08-23T15:52:28-04:002020-08-23T15:52:28-04:002020-08-23T00:05:59-04:00
