And airborne school isn't necessarily a skill to bring you to an airborne unit. It would more feasible if you were infantry going through airborne school. Honestly I can't be 100% on this. But airborne school for non-airborne units is just a short lived skill for promotion points. I've seen logistics or supply go through airborne school and they never served in an airborne unit nor did they ever use the training.Response by SPC Daniel Bowen made Jun 1 at 2018 1:31 AM2018-06-01T01:31:49-04:002018-06-01T01:31:49-04:00CSM Chuck Stafford3675736<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Good luck at GAFB and get through jump school -- you'll never regret going. If I were a betting man, Bragg is in your future -- great assignment. I enlisted to go to Europe too and when the recruiter offered airborne school it was a no brainer -- paratroopers are common in my hometown. So when I got my 1st assignment -- boom Bragg -- It was a longer run from Pike Field to the barracks than from the barracks to my home (in Fayetteville). Airborne All the Way!!!Response by CSM Chuck Stafford made Jun 1 at 2018 7:23 AM2018-06-01T07:23:03-04:002018-06-01T07:23:03-04:00SFC Joseph Lumpkins3679452<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>If you are in fact airborne qualified then you can have a good chance at a place like Bragg.Response by SFC Joseph Lumpkins made Jun 2 at 2018 4:10 PM2018-06-02T16:10:06-04:002018-06-02T16:10:06-04:00CW2 Private RallyPoint Member3679572<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>I doubt you will fail Airborne school just be physically and mentally prepared and you will be fine. As far as location you will be stationed truly anything is possible I know Soldiers that spend 16 of a 22 year career in Bragg trying to leave and I know Soldiers that want to go to Airborne duty stations that don't get the opportunity. Use the ASK in AKO and stay positive.Response by CW2 Private RallyPoint Member made Jun 2 at 2018 5:16 PM2018-06-02T17:16:08-04:002018-06-02T17:16:08-04:00SSG Private RallyPoint Member3686962<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Bragg is almost probable as a first airborne assignment unless you apply for any special units. I had Germany as my first assignment but I’m not airborne so it all depends on what slots are available. You’ll hear about a lot more opportunities when you’re going through the 35N course as well.
