How likely is HRC going to let me re-class to an over strength MOS from a under strength MOS if there are seats available for the MOS? https://www.rallypoint.com/answers/how-likely-is-hrc-going-to-let-me-re-class-to-an-over-strength-mos-from-a-under-strength-mos-if-there-are-seats-available-for-the-mos

Hello. I have a question. I sent up a hotline with my retention NCO March 29th for 68C due to 68C being over strength and my current MOS under strength. I scrounged up 3 letters of recommendations one from the BC, CO, and PL. I am soldier of the quarter for my battalion. I recently completed my Associates in Science and a few other things to try and secure this MOS. I know HRC will give me an answer within 30 days from March 29th, but my question is how likely will they accept my re-class and may I keep sending a request as many times as I want if they deny it at all? I am currently an E4 non promotable with 26 months TIS and 8 months TIG. Thank you in advance. If your division ops is doing their job they kicked back the request already. If they didn't, HRC will either RWA or reply strengths don't support.

You letters of recommendation don't have any relevance. For you to request an exception to that policy the endorsement would need to come from your brigade commander. Even then, unless you are truly exceptional, HRC is not going to allow a reclass into an over strength MOS. Even if you already had your LPN license and didn't require a class seat, HRC wouldn't approve reclass into an over strength MOS. It's as simple as no employer is going to hire someone to fill a job they have no openings for.

You can resubmit a request for the same MOS once a month - for MOS's you are authorized to request. You're not authorized to request an over strength MOS, so you can't request that one until the strengths change. Once the strengths change you can send it once a month until you're no longer eligible for the MOS which is once you're promotable SFC Private RallyPoint Member Tue, 13 Apr 2021 13:18:41 -0400 2021-04-13T13:18:41-04:00 Response by MAJ Byron Oyler made Apr 13 at 2021 1:51 PM https://www.rallypoint.com/answers/how-likely-is-hrc-going-to-let-me-re-class-to-an-over-strength-mos-from-a-under-strength-mos-if-there-are-seats-available-for-the-mos?n=6899604&urlhash=6899604

If you want to be a nurse so bad, apply and get into AECP for your RN. Second you can send up the request every 30 days with no problem. Third depending on what mos you have that is understrength might be a bit difficult.
