SPC Private RallyPoint Member 7995818

My husband is joined the MA ARNG in 2021 march. During his time at boot camp and AIT me and his family moved to Colorado due to financial reasons to be closer with other family that could help us out. This means he no longer had a place to live in MA after AIT which he graduated in Apr of this year. He has been fighting to get transferred over to a unit here for months and he was doing temp drill with another unit until his ITS packet got sent through. I am now pregnant and we are really stressed about money and both agreed it was better for him to go active. We figured it would be easier for MA to release him since they were going to anyway because he moved states. He has gotten in contact with a recruiter and his first sgt from MA who he sent the dd368 to. He also signed a counciling stating that He has had to be drilling with that unit for at least 6 months to be eligible, but he has been drilling here in CO to a unit he is not assigned to. We are worried it’s not going to get approved because of this and he might have to fly there every month. Is it possible for it to still get pushed through? How likely is it for this DD368 to get approved based off of the current circumstances? 2022-11-23T16:35:47-05:00 SPC Private RallyPoint Member 7995818

My husband is joined the MA ARNG in 2021 march. Yes. But, you've got a somewhat complicated situation since you have and probably need to talk to the IST Coordinator to get a better answer of what's the status on his current IST request - start with the MA ARNG IST Coordinator* (listed as [login to see] , [login to see] )

Regarding the conditional release, again, something to talk to the IST coordinator about to see if one was already submitted for the IST packet, and if so, would be have to be redone if your husband's situation changed from "transferring to another state" to "transferring to the active component".

As for getting it pushed through - now you're talking about someone having influence putting their thumb on the scale. Your husband would be in a much better situation to determine if he's got any connections that could help.

--------------------------------------------------------
* MA ARNG IST Coordinator Facebook page - https://www.facebook.com/MAARNG.IST.ISR/

MA National Guard Interstate Transfer and In-Service Recruiting

MA National Guard Interstate Transfer and In-Service Recruiting, Hanscom Air Force Base, Massachusetts. 58 likes. A lot of times people think the regular army will take people from the national guard but just because you get a release from the national guard you are not guaranteed to go to the regular army. Unless the regular army needs your MOS they may not necessarily guarantee your ability to join. Luckily they have been struggling to recruit so you may have a much better shot. But I would never treat transferring to the regular army as a guaranteed event.
