How likely is it to get IMLC or Ranger School at Fort Irwin?

If you are going to an infantry unit it should be pretty fair. I have known a few that get to Ranger from Irwin.

If you are assigned to 11th ACR, contact your Schools NCO to see if you can get into RTAC Course (Ranger Training Assessment Course) aka Pre-Ranger Course.

The best part of Irwin is the small number of Soldier in the unit. Less competition for slots and we have tryouts on a regular basis. Same with air assault.

Well since you will be a SSG one day you will need to be IMLC qualified to certify your section. According to the mortar gods IMLC will soon be required by all SSGs and above.
