I got out of the Marine Corps in March 2013 as an E-5 with RE-1A discharge. I am looking to go back into the Army as a 35L from 0311 Infantry (Squad Leader billet).

My record is great, no issues, with good recommendations in my OMPF. I am wondering what the process is for PS people looking to reclass? I have found information for current enlisted Army but nothing about the process for PS. Thanks

The easy answer is, unfortunately, no.
You can't enlist for 35l. You must apply and be accepted, similar to the marine CI program. You would have to enlist into another mid and begin the process from there.

Look up the prior service business rules online or at the recruiters. Those will tell you exactly which jobs the army is currently asking for and at what grades. Hopefully infantry is on the list, if not then in paragraph 7b (if I remember correctly) the jobs the army will take for reclassing are there. Two years ago when I tried to go active it was 35p and 18x. It may be different, I'd look it up but I'm on a phone. In that case you take one of those training options and once you hit your first unit find the nearest CI office and begin the process. Sorry I couldn't give you an easier answer.
Hope this helps!

Thank you, I was confused because the Business Rules state:
(2) Grade E-5 - 13B, 13F, 13M, 13R, 14E, 14H, 14T, 19D, 19K, 27D (ASI "C5" only (27D2C5)), 35L, 35T, or 91A.

-These are the open jobs for E-5's that allow for reclass.

My confusion stemmed from the recruiters stating that they can get me into 35L with ease. After researching I noticed there was an application process and didn't know if thats something I could do as a civilian and apply with a pending Army contract, or if I had to get into contract, get stationed somewhere without an actual MOS because the 11B MOS is not open to me and apply from there. I have done 5 years TIS already.

The biggest thing is he's a new soldier to me and his records are messed up. I don't want to give him inaccurate information on promotions when I do his counseling and make him think he can get promoted sooner than later if that is the case.
