How long can a prior-service member (USMC), going over to ARNG in another MOS, be non-MOS qualified? https://www.rallypoint.com/answers/how-long-can-a-prior-service-member-usmc-going-over-to-arng-in-another-mos-be-non-mos-qualified <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>I am prior service USMC infantry going over to ARNG aviation in hopes of being selected for WOFT. Due to my graduate school schedule and internships I cannot attend AIT for the MOS I am going in to right away. I will technically be an 11B in a 15T slot. How long can I remain in the unit non MOSQ for 15T? I am hoping to be selected for aviation prior to needing to attend MOS school for 15T. It doesn&#39;t work that way in either the Army or Marines. You have to attend AIT school to get the MOS. How long can you be in a 15T slot without MOS training? That is up to your National Guard unit (I suspect it is 12 months but not 100% sure). I think the question you should be asking is will Army Aviation take someone not MOS qualified into their program from a National Guard unit if they are not an off the street enlistment. I suspect the answer is NO but you should review the WOFT requirements for enlisted National Guardsman that are listed on the USAREC website under WOFT or ask your Recruiter. Pretty sure they list Army &quot;feeder MOS&#39;&quot; to that school and 0311 is not one of them. There are exceptions to every rule, I am sure you will be fine. The Reserve Component as a general rule understands that there are other obligations outside of military service (in a part time status) that will take priority over their military commitment.
