How long does a honorable discharge take if I was a good soldier listen to instruction put the effort and all?

failed my second pt test now getting general discharge with honorable conditions I am just wondering how long till I become a civilian again

Who told you are getting discharged? You will receive separation orders and will give you a date. Mine when I left Active told me a Report Date to my Army Transition Point and then I have the actual discharge date. You still have to go through Soldier For Life class and clear everything. Not knowing the whole situation it is hard to tell.

SFL-TAP will take the longest. If you go to the office there is a memo that can go in your packet to legal, but the classes still have to be done before chapter is complete. Due to SFL-TAP fastest I've seen a chapter lately is about 3 months.

OK...you'd !mentioned that I gather it had to do with some level of physical fitness, I take it, though I can't discern from what standpoint...a friend of ours had been USNR, and was let go due to weight as an O-4 some time back...it'd help to know more...did you want to have stayed in? Was it a weight related aspect of some time? Run time? Physical strength in terms of calisthenics? Would you want to try for oiuer services? Guard? Reserve? How much college at all? Assocs? Bach? Specific course titles? Grades? ZGPAs? Ambitions, goals, objectives motivations? Did you want senior enlisted? Warrant? Commissioned? I'm just trying to comprehend the circumstances in more detail, though if I've misunderstood the problem, I'd be most eager to know more, certainly...obviously, I don't know what I could suggest, I'd read of discharge upgrades, certainly, though I know littl e about them, I know there are traveling review boards for them, I gather through VA, however, I know nothing about how they actually function, one could always appeal to VA, and, if need be, take the whole thing to the Board of Veterans Appeal (BVA) or higher up, like the Court of Appeals of Valor teams Claims (CAVC), then the Circuit Court of Appeals for DC, I think, and the Supreme Court, however, that's obviously really serious stuff, our obviously need help to do that, let !e send this, then something else you might find of use, OK?

These guys at NOVA saved us about my total perm disability, other tan vet groups and vet law clinics at law school, these guys are the top of the VA related attorney food chain, call tjem, use their search engine try to find one with prior active duty, we lucked out, ours had done three years active and had 35-40 years VA law experience, he also got us pro bono law help from a firm he knew, the retainer was $500, we let him handle it, after a vet group was overwhelmed by the complexity, not tat the didn't try...he took the share the VA allowed him, and showed us why God invented lawyers, trust !e, there all good, honest, though send more if you can, I'd be genuinely interested to know more, if at all possible, OK? If you'd want to try to go back into another svc, Guard, or Reserve, elaborate on that aspect, as well as college, fields ambitions, as I'd said, if you can, OK?

May get you separated, but I'm pretty sure it has no bearing on the characterization of your discharge. Unless there are other things going on, separation for PT failures should still rate an honorable discharge.

Depends on how long it takes to process the Chapter paperwork. It could be a few weeks to a couple of months. Did your Command give you adequate counseling, PT Program remediation, etc.?? If they didn't then they could be subject to an investigation or an overturning of the Chapter.

Until the orders come in that you're being discharged, keep working at your PT (and maybe) you can get your scores up and convince them to forego the chapter. Don't give up.

Interesting, because I never heard anyone being discharged, because they failed a second PT test. What happen to corrective training?
Which part of the PT test did you fail?

Put in the effort!! I find that doubtful. Short of a physical issue causing you to fail only laziness would cause you to fail.
