Hector Gomez 3940693

I have a medical record for a strained shoulder, my arm moves perfectly fine with no limitations. When I went to MEPS the doctor saw that i had no issues. I gave my medical record to my recruiter and I haven’t heard anything about it being signed by the doctor. It’s been about 3 weeks now, my recruiter told me it was only going to take 2, is it normal for it to take this long? To give a little background to how this came up, I originally wanted to sign up for the AF Reserve but after talking to some friends in the military I decided to just active in the AF. Well the recruiter for the reserve told me I didn’t need my medical record, but the active duty recruiter told me I did after going through MEPS. How long does it take to get a medical record signed by MEPS? 2018-09-06T01:51:57-04:00 Hector Gomez 3940693

I have a medical record for a strained shoulder, my arm moves perfectly fine with no limitations. It's all going to depend on the extent of your injury in the last. It could be just a med read or it could end up turning into a med waiver. Whatever the case may be, your recruiter uploads the stuff and submits you for a med read. Then the company 1sg signs off and submits it to meps who then submit it to the doctor.

I'm not sure the current situation with doctors at your meps so that may make the process longer. The new packets go to the bottom of the pile. And the doctors there typically read X amount of pages a day. Some of these guys submit hundreds of pages of documents. That being said they can find other stuff in the medical records and request paperwork for that stuff.

All and all, it's dependant on the situation at your meps and the documents you provided. You can bug your recruiter every day if you want. Or just call the Army recruiter and get in a lot faster. Contact the recruiter, they know who in MEPS to contact. What AFSC did you want? What do you ultimately want? Senior enlisted? Commissioned? Would you think about warrant? Do you want a full 20-30 years or just to do a term or two and get out and go civilian? Have you looked at other svcs? Would you? How much college? High school AP coursework? Assocs? Bach? GPA? Grades? Specific course titles? STEM? Non-STEM? Clinical? Nonclinical? Are you prior at all? You didn't !mention it, so I'm assuming not, if you were prior it'd help to know, OK? The more you elaborate, the more we can all suggest, be as specific and highly detailed as possible, OK? Hobbies? Reading interests? Sports esp martial arts if any? Are you running now? Have you had the shoulder imaged at all, assumedly MRI? Have you new for outside look by orthopedics, and/or physiatry/rehab med, not just PT? Knowing all that would help us answer you...you could always call your recruiting district, or ask to speak with the district directly, I'd suppose, just a thought, OK? I'd he eager to hear more, also, how much therapy and/or surgical stuff has has been involved? A SLAP or Bankart procedure? Have you had a shoulder arthroscopy at all? I just know about such things as I'd been doctoral allied health before my total perm disability, though we shut my license off sevl uars ago, however, during all my residency stuff, I helped with a good deal of such things as part of my enrichment exposure, hat was why I was curious to ask, obviously, only tell as much as you deem suitable, however, if you haven't had such recent outside assess!ent, I'd certainly get it, by all !eams, honest, open that was at least of some use, in any event....
