How long does it take to get cleared by the Surgeon General to go back in the Air Force? https://www.rallypoint.com/answers/how-long-does-it-take-to-get-cleared-by-the-surgeon-general-to-go-back-in-the-air-force

Going Air Force! Really excited! So I got my clearances by Doctors ect and the recruiter said that all that stuff has to be sent to the Surgeon General to get stamp off on too. He said this could take up to 6 to 8 months. Is this worse case scenario or the norm? Your Doctors did not clear you. The Surgeon General is only involved in appeals of a Medical DQ (by your Recruiter) or a requested second opinion by the MEPS Doctors. Unless I am mistaken and I have been away from USAREC HQ for a while so I defer to a recent USAF Recruiter. Those are MEPS (MEPCOM) rules by the way that apply to all services, so an Army Recruiter could answer this as well.

I believe you also have a 12 month limit on your Accessions / Enlistment process, so you need to add 8 months to whenever you started it and if it goes over 12 months, you will be forced to start over again once you hit 12 months.
