My husband has been waiting to go back active duty, which have been trying since July of last year (2017). He have went to MEPS in Dallas and passed everything, only to go back to sign his contract and be told they forgot to do his neck tattoo wavier. He has had that tattoo for 11 years and before his first enlistment. We found some Military Forms showing he had it while he was in and yet they say it isn't enough and they need the memo from 2014 when the rules changed and we all had to take photos and get a memorandum. The recruiter that got him to MEPS last year failed to do any tattoo paperwork because he thought he was grandfathered. My husband gave up because we almost lost everything waiting for the recruiter and thinking he was leaving in 30 days. Now for two months he have been trying to finish this one thing to seal the deal. New recruiter is waiting on the UFL_142 but isn't really telling us anything. Trying to keep the faith.

it Should take about a month or so to get all discharge and medical papers. But it depends on the battalion ops who is incharge of processing the request and the amount of request his processing . If you have documents stating that he have those tattooos while he was in and that he is grandfathered, I suggest to submit that with the tattoo review for the battalion commander to see when he is reviewing his waiver. Call the recruiter once a week for an update.

Not a problem, I wish him the best of luck. Keep following up and it helps if you talk directly to the station commander since he is the one that checks for any actions submitted to the battalion.

REQUEST FOR PRIOR SERVICE VERIFICATION INFORMATION is what the form is for. Supposedly its what you use to obtain all the paperwork that prior service had ever had in his/her records during the whole service time they were in.

The UFL 142 is a USAREC Firm requesting Prior Service Verification. If I was your husband I would make an appointment with the Station Commander and request assistance. Face time Face the SC would see how interested you are to Enlist.. does that help Shayle???
