SPC Private RallyPoint Member 4821543 <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>I am currently in my re-enlistment window and was considering going to the National Guard. I was told I had to wait 6 months from my ETS date in order to create a contract with the Guard. I was wondering how long after I create my contract do I have to wait to transition over? How long does it take to transition from Active Duty to National guard? 2019-07-17T10:59:56-04:00 SPC Private RallyPoint Member 4821543 <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>I am currently in my re-enlistment window and was considering going to the National Guard. What you should push for is if you intend to ETS, your transition to the Guard should be the following day. Work with the Guard recruiter to make this happen. If you already know what state you want to live in, make sure they have a slot for you and one that you could potentially be promoted in to down the road. Message me if you have additional questions. You have a better chance fir advancement in The Army Reserve. As a matter of fact, I believe is part of your out-processing; at least it was many years ago!
