How long does your medical review take? I want to go to MEPS ASAP and have already taken the ASVAB. Any tips on a timeline for this process?

MEPS is usually the "medical process" before signing a contract etc. Are you talking about some type of medical waiver from your recruiter? As far as I know, the recruiter shouldn't be doing any "medically reviewing" aside from what you disclosed that may disqualify you from service before you even get to MEPS.

Your medical review is at MEPS. You fill out your recruitment packet where the recruiter tries to be as in depth and as exact with all of your life history as they can. The extent of the recruiters medical is getting the were, what, when and who of your medical that means something ie eye surgery, broken bones, asthma etc. From there it is submitted to MEPS where the process takes as long as it takes. Most recruits clear MEPS for enlisting in the two day window that is given. Some have to stay over or come back on the next weekend depending upon the recruitment situation.

Bring a book, learn to be bored and hurry up and wait. You will get through what millions before you have. There is no speeding up the process.

A couple of things,

1: you’re recruiter would have all these answers. Getting the answer from the source is always best.

2: how do you have a rank and MOS already. I would suggest editing your account to potential recruit instead of placing yourself in the rank and file before you go to basic training.

3: I’ve worked at MEPS, your Med review usually takes one day for a physician or technician to look at your Prescreen. You prescreen will fall into one of two categories.

Simple or complex, if it’s simple for example you’re a squeaky clean kid with no behavior or physical issues that are major then it can be as quick a a week after your ASVAB or whenever your recruiter submits your precreen. Some people have ASVAB and Med processing in the same day. If is a complex that means a doc has to review and sign off to approve you to even come to the meps for a physical. That takes a week or so depending on how busy the MEPS might be and who’s on vacation.
