How long is an enlisted, unaccompanied tour in Germany?

My son just received his assignment projection to Wiesbaden. How long is an enlisted, unaccompanied, tour in Germany?

I believe unaccompanied tours to Germany are now two years.

It doesn't matter how long the tour is if he is going to Wiesbaden. I was there from 1983 to 1986 and I loved it. It was a beautiful town and it had many things to do. Frankfurt and Mainz was not far away. He will enjoy his stay there.

It use to be 1 year back in the 80’s and 90’s. I believe it’s 2 now. I spent my last tour in the Army in Wiesbaden. 7 1/2 years from 1985-1992. Lived every minute of it.

It's two years, but unless it's his very first tour or he's leaving his family behind, he will take the accompanied tour which is three years.

When I came to Germany, I was there for 3 years instead of the normal two....... I'm guessing the Army now days is trying to cut back on the short PCS moves and save money and try to keep Soldiers at duty station for longer durations.

He will be graduating from 25S AIT end of April time frame. Then leave and maybe 10 days of recruiting duty at home.

Unaccompanied is a total of two years to Germany.

Back in the day am accompanied tour was 12-13 months. Accompanied was 3 years. He will love Wiesbaden. I ended my career there. I went over in 1985 did a consecutive overseas tour which took my to 1990. Desert Shield/Storm deployed and when I returned they tried to make me accept a 1st SGT slot back on jump status which I had left over 10 years prior. I serviced out my enlistment retiring late 1992.

2 years. Been hearing rumors of them bumping it up to 3. I did 2 years unaccompanied.
