17 Years. They let me back in at the age of 52. Had to go through the entire MEPPS process, enlisted with new Soldiers that could've been my kids or grandkids. Left the service in 1998 and re-entered almost three years ago. Left as a DS and came back in as one, right back on the trail four months after enlisting

Congratulations. Mine was 17 years also. Came back in 4 months before 9/11, promptly got deployed for a year. It was a rude awaking and incredibly bad timing.

That is fantastic. I'm about to reenlist in the Reserve after fifteen years out. My goal is to attend the Drill Sergeant Academy and serve as a Reserve Drill Sergeant.
