How long will it take for me to be medically discharged?

My P.A. And Orthopaedics doctors have informed me that my knee is unrepairable do to severe arthritis and an insane amount of scar tissue damage. How long will it take before I am separated from the army?

They have told me that they are starting the medical discharge process and that there will be no chance for medical reclass do to the condition of my knee.

SGT Private RallyPoint Member I don't have an answer for the discharge question, but I did want to offer my sympathies for the knee issues. My knee was so bad that I had it replaced this past December (I'm in my mid 40s). Hang in there and good luck.

Once you have been referred and entered into the Ides system, it should be about two months.
