Lillian Maisel5418719<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>My husband has 10 months left before ETS, and just got deployed from Fort Bragg with the IRF. My question: what's the longest he could be deployed? Is it likely he will be sent home with at least 3 months left in his contract to transition?<br />He was scheduled for BLC and so it came as a shock when he was scheduled to deploy and we are still adjusting. It would be easier if there was a tentative timeline of how long he'll be gone.<br />Thank you so much for any help. How long will my husband be deployed with the IRF given that he has only 10 months left in his contract?2020-01-06T10:52:03-05:00Lillian Maisel5418719<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>My husband has 10 months left before ETS, and just got deployed from Fort Bragg with the IRF. He could be there 180 days. If he fully intends on getting out, then he shouldn't be where ever he is for the whole 10 months since he is gonna need about 30 (perhaps a little less) days to start clearing out of the Army. He will probably need the full 30 and maybe a little more if he hasn't completed his SFL-TAP courses/appointments yet.Response by MSG Private RallyPoint Member made Jan 6 at 2020 10:56 AM2020-01-06T10:56:29-05:002020-01-06T10:56:29-05:00CWO3 Private RallyPoint Member5418795<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Depends on the situation in theater. Unless they freeze transfers or institute a stop-loss, they'll get him home before ETS.Response by CWO3 Private RallyPoint Member made Jan 6 at 2020 11:17 AM2020-01-06T11:17:06-05:002020-01-06T11:17:06-05:00SFC Private RallyPoint Member5418808<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>The news said they will be deployed about 60 days. The Army is required to bring him back at least 90 days for ETS. He has had 7-8 months where he could have started SFLTAP, so that's on him for not doing it yet. If he wants he can extend another year when he returns if he needs more time to adequately prepare.Response by SFC Private RallyPoint Member made Jan 6 at 2020 11:20 AM2020-01-06T11:20:00-05:002020-01-06T11:20:00-05:00CW2 Private RallyPoint Member5419472<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>If he has the option to reenlist while he's deployed, may be a good option. Seems hes not too serious about getting out anyway since he hasn't done any of the SFLTAP.Response by CW2 Private RallyPoint Member made Jan 6 at 2020 2:28 PM2020-01-06T14:28:46-05:002020-01-06T14:28:46-05:00SFC Luis (Coolwhip) Ochoa5426941<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Ask him!!!Response by SFC Luis (Coolwhip) Ochoa made Jan 8 at 2020 8:32 PM2020-01-08T20:32:16-05:002020-01-08T20:32:16-05:002020-01-06T10:52:03-05:00
