How many days does the Army give you to clear for ETS?

I will ETS July 2020 and I will be taking leave in April 2020 and wanted to know how many days will I get to clear CIF and everything else. I am at Ft Riley and I know some people get 5 days and some got 10 days to clear but is it up to my Unit to says how many days i can clear before i take my leave. Also, can i be told to take a PT test while i am clearing post.

I don't know how many days you will get, but have you checked your unit's policy board? If you have a current APFT by the time you ETS you shouldn't have to worry about taking one.

Each post has its own policy for clearing. Generally it's 10 working days from your terminal leave start that you'll pick up your clearing papers. I seriously doubt your unit is going to have a PT test in those 10 days you're clearing.

It can be a pita to clear post. I ended up having to do it during my terminal leave due to my firstborn arriving a month early. As it has been said, expect reindeer games and all sorts of idiotic moments to happen. Just keep at it.

Probably a lot longer than when I got out in 1968 (three days to clear post) one thing to be sure of make it your business that all paperwork (see I told you I’m old) concerning your time in the Service,ie medical,injuries,treatments while in uniform,trust me this is important,Thank you for your Service.

The Army does not have to give you any time at all, Post Policies from the Post Commander will advise the Units and then the Units can take or leave the advice. When I was medically retired in 2015, I did my clearing in between the Mandated Classes. I was given no time, only threats from my 1st SG. The Unit can make your do a PT test one day prior to signing out, but this dangerous because if you injure yourself it can delay your ETS Date in which the entire chain of Command can be called into question.

Every post has a S.O.P for clearing,
I had to turn in my clearance paperwork to the 1SG everyday, he said since I did not have to make formation, this was the only way he could keep up with me.
But I got two weeks/ five business days,
I did it in three, TA 50 turn in was the worst.(CIF)
Other than than that how can you take a PT test, and you don’t have to come to any formation???
Of course this was a long time ago, when I was a E5

Wehn i got out of the Army the first time, i was given 10 days. Then when i came back in and then retired, i was also given 10 days. All my past duty stations gave 10 days to clear. Unless you had some UCMJ going on; I remember seeing guys cleared in "1" day. As far as I know, yes they can make you take a APFT. If you have taken your ETS Physical, then they usually won't . They wont risk you getting hurt, but they can still make you take it. I have seen it first hand.

It's good to see that nothing at Ft. Riley has changed. Everything that you have just asked was the same in 2015 when I retired. Your Unit will give you as much time to none as it takes for you to clear CIF since it only takes half a day and as far as your PT Test, it can be given up till the day you leave but should you injure yourself it could delay your ETS date in which your Unit is held accountable. I have always received 10 business days in the last 21+ years through several PCS’s, I am currently stationed at Fort Bragg and I was just told 10 days counting holidays and weekends.

I got 2 weeks for classes. You don't have to train or test during that time because you will have a lot of other things you have to do in order to leave
