How many days of Accrued Leave should I put on my leave form if my LES doesn't accurately reflect the leave that I just used? https://www.rallypoint.com/answers/how-many-days-of-accrued-leave-should-i-put-on-my-leave-form-if-my-les-doesn-t-accurately-reflect-the-leave-that-i-just-used

My December LES isn’t ready yet, and my November LES says I have 33.5 days of leave. I just got done with PCS leave for 21 days which would mean I have 12.5 days of leave. On the leave form do I put 33.5 because I have the LES of November, or do I put 12.5 because that’s the actual amount of days I have. I only plan on taking 5-6 days? I only plan on taking 5-6 days just to be home for Christmas. Be careful, S1s are notorious for processing 31s with what is in the boxes. If you are requesting 12, take 12. They will process what is on there, perhaps a month later. They may miss the dates in and out on the form and only check the log by exception LTC Jason Mackay Sat, 14 Dec 2019 18:45:11 -0500 2019-12-14T18:45:11-05:00 Response by LTC Private RallyPoint Member made Dec 15 at 2019 4:20 AM https://www.rallypoint.com/answers/how-many-days-of-accrued-leave-should-i-put-on-my-leave-form-if-my-les-doesn-t-accurately-reflect-the-leave-that-i-just-used?n=5344933&urlhash=5344933

If you request 12 and take less you will need to save a copy of your leave form showing you signed in early. The chance they charge you time you didn't take is high but with your paperwork you can get it back. To answer your question: you put down 12.5 for accrued leave and then put down the amount of leave you want to request i.e. 6. Now if you only take 5 and sign back in early, you could lose a day of leave if someone in S1 doesn't catch that you signed in early. But can I offer some advice? I would suggest getting with an NCO in your unit first before reaching out online. Seriously.

There is the RIGHT way to do it, and then there is the way it is done. I once worked for a Commander who refused to sign a DA31 unless LES matched. The exception was if the DA31 was accompanied by a signed memo from the PL annotating the discrepancy as well as supporting documentation (in your case, the DA31 with 22 days that has not yet been processed). No one on RP would have been able to tell me that. Local procedures and SOPs vary greatly, including what to put in the remarks box.

This is one of those areas that your direct CoC will be infinitely more helpful and more accurate than us know-it-alls here on RP.
