I'd like too know what changes my sister services have encountered over a 20, 30, 40, 50 year career.
Do you think it is time for a one-uniform-military? How many different uniform changes haves you served under? 2014-12-06T02:22:13-05:00 SSG(P) Private RallyPoint Member 357472

Changes I've seen: BDUs to ACUs and now to Tri-Cam, and the Green Dress for the ASU...add and take away the black beret. No, I doubt we will ever see the services agree on one particular uniform. Watch this, I make that assertion and the change is announced tomorrow... From BDU, DCU, ACU, and now Multicams. I have the Gray PTs then the new ones and now the Black PTs. All things change in time. We, the services, really need to take a hard look at the number of uniforms we really NEED. When I enlisted, I was issued Service, Service Dress, and utility (fatigues). Eventually, we went to BDUs. About the time I retired, we added the AF PT uniform. Now, I understand the powers that be wanting to establish some standard for PT as you would get all sorts of clothing, there maybe some debate there, being worn. How difficult would it have been to state appropriate PT wear is dark shorts, white tee? Served me well over the course of my career. Let's simplify the Soldier, Sailor's, Marine's and Airmen's life and get back to basics in regards to uniforms. Not to mention the savings we can pass along to the American tax payer. Dungarees to Utilities to NWU. Accompanying these, there was a change to coveralls policy with the Utilities since you couldn't realistically do real work in slacks; and a change the office wear alongside the NWU intro. Plus I was in the Seabees, so along with the fleet uniform changes: they also went from BDUs to NWU-type3.
To top it off, now I switched to Air Guard so I'm wearing the tigerstripes.

Yes we need one working/tactical uniform across the branches.
Further I think there should be one design for office wear with just different color schemes per branch.
Everyone can go nuts on their full dress uniform. Why is the branches of the military are never satisfied with a uniform that is practical and well received by all!! This uniformity crap that all branches of the service have to look alike is pure BS!!!
