How many Leaders have Soldiers in the barracks this holiday weekend?

How many Leaders have Soldiers stuck in the barracks this weekend and what are you doing about it?

I wonder how many Soldiers are going to eat at the DFAC or fast food because they cant or won't go home. I was always taught to take care of your Soldiers but I bet when I walk through the barracks tomorrow there will be tons of Soldiers sitting around.

I used to always find out which of my troops weren't going anyway and make them come to my house for dinner, my 1st section chief did that to us barracks rats and I learned a great deal from that man, that I still carry with me today in lessons on being a caring and respectful leader.

One of our top NCO, use to have us at his house .Especially during the holidays. Thanksgiving and New Years. I love it

In the 4yrs I was in the Army no one gave a damn as to who was in the barracks. Being invited to an NCO'S home for dinner. Unheard of. Never heard of anything like it.

Man I am just seeing this, and I got in 2008-2015, not only did the FRG(MWR&Boss) do stuff for us, but our First SGT, Platoon SGT, or BCM always let us come over for the holidays when we could not or just did not go home...Barracks Rats is a huge issue, hell I was one for a long time...though I love my isolation at times, it's good to be in a unit who cares about their soilders
