How Many Military Retirees are Out There?

(Scroll to the bottom to see)

Statistics continually show that servicemembers / veterans are a SMALL MINORITY in the USA.  Let's considered retirees.  That's truly an exclusive club!  Whether you went the distance (MRD), 20-AND-OUT, Early Progs, Medical, and Reserve/NG, take a second and SHOUT OUT Your YEARS/MONTHS/DAYS.

Would you do it again?

MAJ Keira Brennan, I was assigned to the Retired Reserve on 11MAY98 with over 24 years of qualifying service. I've been out longer than most have been in! I would do it again, but not in the current times. I'm afraid my old ways wouldn't suit today's Army!

CLARIFICATION - I became fully retired on 18MAR09.

Retired 1 Aug 2011 after 26 yrs 2 mos, not counting USAFA cadet time. Hell yes I would do it again. My brothers and sisters who never left MN got better at shoveling snow than me, but my stories are better.

MAJOR Yes I would. When the 50 year pay and retirement chart was in RP I figured my retirement income. I am just a few month away from being retired 40 years. Even with the first few years that I had low retirement it has be a welcome income through the years. With my SS military and job retirement I do alright. And health care (TFL) saves a lot. Yes I would do it again.
