A Silver oak leaf is equal to 5, and would only be worn on the ribbon at the sixth award. <br /><br />Otherwise we&#39;d look like North Koreans. The Army (in my limited time working with them) has never done enough in terms of encouraging or teaching their enlisted ranks to do their own research, but its a good skill to acquire. As several other comments have stated - AR 600-8-22 is going to be your source of truth for this question. Random people on RP, Reddit, Tinder or whatever app you get info from can conflate opinions with facts or even just post BS answers for the hell of it. Your regs will always give you the current and correct info - the stuff that&#39;ll hold up under inquiry when your 1SG questions it. Learn your ARs and use them when you need them and you&#39;ll eventually be adding an ARCOM to your pair of AAM&#39;s. Congrats, and good luck.
