However, qualifications did come in to consideration I.E. Skills such as Master Gunner, equipment worked on, and specific jobs done such as TCA,TDA, Commo operator, or Launcher section. Also I hate to say this but it also depends on who you know. I would reach out to the location you want for employment to see if there is someone there that could vouch for your skill sets. That would make it a little easier. What I can say is that it depends on what you have done in Air Defense, and what areas in the company currently has openings. You should also be ready to travel, as many openings are overseas. My advice is to apply. Good luck! Those that are sticking out are those that are true masters of the craft, and that does not mean Master Gunnery either. Unfortunately I have met to many 'MGs" that were just a graduate of the course and that was it. You need to set yourself apart from the rest of your peers with actual knowledge. Look into jobs at http://jobs.raytheon.com for positions you may be interested in. If you draft a Resume, please don't forget to put in some time and curtail it to the position that you are applying for. Too many times I have sat in on an interview an the person has used the same resume for multiple different jobs. Also, don't try and impress us with a bunch of words and accolades. List the prominent accomplishments, achievements and succinct details of your time in the military. Having a five paged Resume is not necessarily a good thing. HIGHLIGHT your COLLEGE EDUCATION.....Really, be prepared to talk about this. If you know some one that works for the company (And you should by all the posts I see) ask them what the job entails, as some of our jobs are similar sounding, but different in nature. Prepare yourself to answer questions like: "Why do you think you would be good for this position?", "What motivates you?", "What do you think qualify you for this position?", "Are you willing to travel?" and "When is the earliest you are available?" . You would be surprised to the amount of interviewees that are stumped when asked these questions. Know that while many attributes that made you successful in the Army don't necessarily cross over to the civilian sector, i.e. PT Stud, Soldier of the Quarter, Audie Murphy. Lastly, if you don't know the answer to a question, don't fake it, I guarantee you we know the answer. Good luck and I hope this answers your question.

Raytheon Jobs & Careers

Raytheon offers a broad range of career paths and opportunities.
