How many of you fathers of daughters are planning, much less willing, to spend time on the weapons range with your children?

How many of you would even consider taking your kids to the range for target and other shooting? Before you answer, how often are you looking for "teaching events" where fun helps drive home life's principles?

I can think of a couple soldiers that can learn a thing or two from that girl. Can we put her on the payroll as a trainer?

I had all my children (2 son's a daughter a daughter inlaw and son inlaw) take the Hunter education class. For one I have guns in my home,they know how to properly handle a gun and how to use one.We shoot on a regular basis I let them choose what we are shooting that day.*Shotguns,Rifles,Pistols or assault rifles. We like to make our shooting outings a family learning experience with fun included. I have two Grand kids that will soon be joining

I take my kids shooting as often as I can! I want to take them to a 3 Gun Comp to see if I can spark some interest in training for competition.

I taught both my daughters to shoot. Started with a small cricket .22 and they progressed to my M1 and AR15

I fully intend to. My little girl (and boy, if I have one), will be able to shoot, move and engage like their daddy.

It was long ago but I taught my daughter to use both a rifle and a pistol at an early age. I also taught her the basics of using a knife and martial arts. No way in hell that I wanted my daughter to be unable to defend herself.

Damn straight! Started this past summer some with the 7 and 5 year olds. Now they'll be a year older and the baby of the family will be 5 so she'll get some too. Like my H.S. shop teacher always said "safety first, last and always see you next week"!

Well I don't have any kids, but I do have 2 nieces. My brother has done an excellent job teaching them to shoot, and firearms safety. Went to visit one time and they asked if I wanted to go shooting with them. Sure sounds like fun. Then they asked if I wanted to wager a quarter for every hit at about 50 yds. I said sure. I'll go easy on them and let them win. It was a ambush. I walked right into it. After a 5.00 loss I bought the ice cream.

I have taught my 19 yr old daughter how to shoot pistols, recurve and compound bows plus how to fish, lol

This summer I am getting a pellet rifle to begin shooting with my 4yo daughter. I also have a 10/22 for when she is a bit older and more comfortable with shooting

My daughter is ten, just weeks ago she shot her first deer at 75 yds with a muzzle loader. She was given her first rifle at age 8, a .22cal Cricket. By 9 she was good enough with the weapon and overall safety that I would allow her to shoot her .22 on her 25m range by herself. In 2 years I will start working on pistols with her. Shes not going off to college until shes deadly. It will probably save me some prison time overall. If she kills an attacker it is self defense, if I find him it WILL be murder!

Currently working with my 9 year old son on IDPA commands, drawing, reloading and shooting. The goal is to have him shoot his first match as a jr shooter in March. I have two 7 year old girls, 5 year old and 4 year old sons, when they are responsible enough I plan on doing the same thing with them.

I have 4 kids, youngest is about to turn 18. Lets see I have 2 nationally ranked competitive air rifle shooters, on former collegiate shooter, 3 NRA certified instructors, 1 NRA certified rifle coach, 3 BSA shooting sports camp directors, 2 hunters, and one soldier. For the last 15 years I have been on the range with my kids at least 10-12 hours a week. But it's starting to slow down a bit as they are getting older and on their own.

Just bought my Grandson a Ruger SR1911 for his 19th brithday. He is going for his CCW next week. I have had him Shooting since the age of 5. All my kids shoot to include my wife, they are all great marksman.
