How many of you got your degree after leaving the military? How many of you went to college then enlisted?

I am working on my PhD and want to addresss the higher educational levels of the Army. Your information would be helpful, I don’t need personal info just general answers to the questions.

I didn’t do either, I earned my BS on active duty by attending night classes for six years. Then after I commissioned, I competed my MBA while attending night school for the next two years. It was a sacrifice, but well worth it.

I got out then join the guard for TA, right now in college as a double engineer major!

I attended college for a few years then enlisted. I then finished my degree while on active duty. Good luck MSG!

-I enlisted for three years, then left service to attend college for my bachelors degree.
-I then came back in as an officer, and was sent to school by the Army for my MBA and PhD.

I went on active duty after high school for 5 years, then got off of active duty and joined the reserves. Once off of active duty, I went to college and finished my degree in less than 4 years. I was so focused on getting things done that I overloaded myself every semester. Most 18-, 19-year olds won't do that and just wasted money being in school longer than they need to. Because I did it this way, I was able to go after my masters with a little GI Bill money left over and then got a 12-month extension to use post 9/11 GI Bill to finish my masters. So, the fact that I did it after being in the military, I was a lot more successful in school.

Enlisted with (2) bachelors.
After AD (while still in the Reserves), I earned my MBA.

I shipped out to OSUT about two weeks after earning my B.A. About two months after ETS, I started working on my MBA, which I completed recently.

Failed out of college, then enlisted.
While serving acquired 160 credits, and an Associate's degree.
Retired, earned my Bachelor's degree in a couple of years (3 semesters).
Now 1 semester in to my Master's degree.

Received degree and commission the same day in 1969. While serving as a Captain, completed a Masters Degree.

I got my Bachelor's in Journalism in 2004 and then I enlisted. Sixteen years later, here I am. I did get two Master's degrees between TA and my 9/11 GI Bill though.

I went to college right after high school, goofed off, and dropped out. I joined the Air Force in 1992.

I started all over again after being medically retired in 2002. None of those underwater basket-weaving classes I took the first time transferred, thankfully.

I finished my BS in 2006, my MBA in 2009.
