The Combined Arms Training Activity ( CATA) has requested that ARI conduct an assessment to determine, in quantifiable terms, the benefits of training with Army Training Battle Simulation System (ARTBASE) and to make recommendations concerning the frequency of training necessary to sustain learning. This report covers the validation of the testing instruments to be used for this assessment. The test instruments consist of two forms (Form A and Form B) to be used in a pretest posttest arrangement to assess learning by battalion command staffs, and two forms (Form A and Form B) to be used as pretest and posttest instruments to measure incidental learning by company commanders and scout platoon leader role players. Procedures followed for development of the tests, and the validation methodology are described. Reliability, validity, and parallelism results are provided. copies of tests are included as appendixes to this report.Response by SFC Mark Merino made Sep 28 at 2014 12:14 AM2014-09-28T00:14:58-04:002014-09-28T00:14:58-04:00SPC David S.257976

Its a simulator designed for BN level staff. Its a mobile unit contained in 2 trailers and has been around since 1974. I think it is designed to test BN staff's readiness levels. DUNN-KEMPF, PEGASUS, and FIRST BATTLE were all computer based WAR GAMES that evolved into the ARTBASS system. The simulator came about with Operation Steadfast that was a massive reorganization of the Army. Partly driven in an effort to minimize the cost of BN level training the computer based simulator was born.

Would you like to play a game?Response by SPC David S. made Sep 28 at 2014 3:04 AM2014-09-28T03:04:57-04:002014-09-28T03:04:57-04:002014-08-06T18:01:36-04:00
