How many of you still reflect or think about the military lifestyle years after you got out?

I retired in 2011 but still work as a DOD Civilian, every day there is something that comes up that reminds me of my service...especially since I'm retired Air Force and I support Marines, yah we're the punch line :)

60% of my life was in the military...I think about it all the time. RP reminds me almost daily. For the record, I was playing Army long before I joined so the 60% is actually only the portion of my life I was getting paid to play.

It will be 40 years next month since I was on active duty. 29 since my last Reserve drill.

I still enjoy going to the base and getting the feel of military.

I agree with most here. I think about it often. Some of my best friends were the people I served with. We can get together after years and it is like we haven't been apart more than a couple of days.

Of course, the pain in my back also helps me keep thinking about it....

When I retired 11.01.2012 about 3 month afterwards I miss it more and more everyday
