I was never stationed overseas, I only completed deployments. However, my wife was stationed in Italy during her time in the Navy and she misses the travel as well. Both of us would love to find employment abroad.
Aside from that, we have plans to travel on our own dime. We spent couple weeks in Scotland several years back and we are planning for couple weeks in Okinawa and mainland Japan in couple years. For now we venture for week at a time couple times a year throughout the US to satisfy our travel bug.Response by MSgt Daniel Attilio made Oct 27 at 2015 12:08 PM2015-10-27T12:08:16-04:002015-10-27T12:08:16-04:00SPC Donald Moore1069016

I was only active duty for four years and was stationed over in Germany for two of those years, but I was single back then. I enjoyed getting the chance to see that part of the world and (looking back on it) I realize how precious that opportunity was. I have always wished I could afford to take my wife on an extended tour of Europe, but it just isn't the same now.
After my time in the Army, I have worked for the Navy as a civilian since 1999 and up until 2009 I traveled extensively, but for short trips where my family could not come along. I did enjoy that travel also, but mostly I enjoyed being paid to go to those places.
If I could do it all again, I think would stay in the military to be stationed in more places and have time to explore like I did when I lived in Germany those years.Response by SPC Donald Moore made Oct 27 at 2015 12:08 PM2015-10-27T12:08:32-04:002015-10-27T12:08:32-04:00SFC Thomas Howes1069041

You should try this web site https://www.veteransholidays.com/t/em_vetfriends/augustfreeweek_080415/t/h/afvc/initDealLanding?utm_source=vetfriends&utm_medium=mm_email&utm_term=learnmore&utm_content=augustfreeweek&utm_campaign=080415&id=aug2015_free_week_sale

You can use the patriot express and fly to most countries. Go work as an English teacher overseas. They really need them in Korea and they pay for your housing too.
