If you miss one weekend, you get four Us. Each day is two UTAs. So in reality, a drill weekend would be 4 training periods or 4 MUTAs. Therefore, on your unit sign in roster, for a 2 day BTA there should be 4 lines to sign. A lot of people state that this is to sign in and sign out per day. Technically right, but technically wrong. Each line basically represents 1 day of active duty. In regards to U's, each line is, if missed, is classified as a full day missed on active duty (same way of thinking for pay). You miss coming in in the morning, you get a one U. You miss a full day and you get two U's. They can be as much as a MUTA 8.
Each UTA is a day's pay on the pay chart, so in essence you get paid for four days on a typical drill weekend.
Your question about U's (or Unsatisfactory performance) is more nuanced. The short answer is that if a Soldier does not show up for BA, he gets four U's (or if it is a MUTA 2 or 3, that many U's). If the BA is a MUTA 6, the Soldier only gets 4 U's for the purposes of calculating unsatisfactory performance and the punitive actions of removal for 9 or more U's in a calendar year.
Reference is AR 135-178, Chapter 9. 1SG Private RallyPoint Member Tue, 06 Oct 2015 14:17:24 -0400 2015-10-06T14:17:24-04:00 Response by SPC Sheila Lewis made Oct 4 at 2016 11:44 AM https://www.rallypoint.com/answers/how-many-pay-periods-are-in-a-drill-weekend?n=1946294&urlhash=1946294

I need attendance records for drill time I did a couple years ago, I have even contacted VA.
