I know I have beliefs in politics and not everyone sees things the same way, so it helps to converse with others that are similar or complete opposite. sharing ideas even opposing ones, adjust political beliefs and I think that&#39;s a good direction to go. the thing about politics that makes it frustrating is that B.S have a short lived half-life. in the service there was no political discussions and at the water-cooler there are. Politics are a part of the workplace. I think the political discussions help in understanding others view, whether it&#39;s strengthening or unraveling, this will effect the way you deal with others. Perhaps it makes them feel good to hear from other people who agree with them, and RP is the one of the few places they have the ability to do that from their couch. Sometimes, an opposing view sets off a firestorm of debate that can get out of hand. I agree, probably half of the topics that get posted here daily fit into that category. Personally, I am selective of what I respond to and how I do it. It doesn&#39;t bother me to have political topics, as with any other, its up to me whether or not to engage or ignore it.
