How many times a year do you wear your dress uniform?

Until recently it was "Less than once a year." I've worn it two or three times in the last 6 months though....so it's actually current....LOL. I don't really WANT to wear it that often though. However, I'm SUPER grateful that we are wearing the peaked garrison cap instead of that stupid freaking beret. v/r, CPT Butler

Maybe we will have a Dining Out, maybe not.
These uniforms are rare indeed in the USAR.

I do keep mine current, though. Just in case.

For me, twice. One for inspection and one for our St. Barbara's Ball in December. Other than that, the uniform hibernates for about 11 and 1/2 months.

I now wear ASU B's about once a week. A's I will wear once this summer, once if we have an inspection, and for my next DA photo, whenever that will be. Dress Uniform? I'm thinking the 12th of never.

Once a month for payday activities and then it sits and collects dust the rest of the time.

In most of the units I have been in, an annual inspection is the most we do with our ASUs.

When I was still in, it was Marine Ball, and a Mess Night, on average (Dress A or B). If we had a General Officer visit, and we knew they were going to be in Dress C or D (Blue pants, Tan Shirt), we would dress accordingly.

When I was in my dress uniform came out once in awhile depending on duty location. Some assignments I had to wear it more often than others.

My unit recently started wearing them for our Christmas parties (some of us still don't have blues *sigh*) I wear it a bit more often because I am part of our funeral service detail.

I had a real good year with them in 2013 I think I did 19 Funerals in 47 days. But since then I have only worn them to a personal friend of mine's funeral in December.

This is a hard one to answer LTC Private RallyPoint Member. I put once a year but it depends on many factors.
If there are Military Balls, or a tasking for "Funeral Honors."
Of course I am not complaining. I honestly really like wearing the Uniform but am always very cautious about getting dirty.
I remember a time in the Military when I wore it once a month for "Pay Day Activities." I wonder if we truly slow down on the deployments if that will come back.

I will wear it during a unit drunk fest...er I mean a dining out. Otherwise most of our annual Dress Inspections happen on a hanger because they are squeezed in with mandatory annual briefings.

Only for major events and to honor a fellow falling family member. And what I mean by family are my brother and sister in the most important uniform in this country our fallen soldiers ,God bless our country and the world.

As a Navy Chaplain I wear dress uniform fairly frequently. My first command was a training command so I wore it on average about twice a week for graduations. At my current command the dress uniform is probably once every couple months, but we wear khakis every Friday.

Now when I was in the Army... different story. We wore dress uniform once a week while I was going through language school. Once I graduated I wore Class "B" once in the remaining 4 years of service. Never put the dress uniform on again.

I wear it when the occasion calls for it. When I am on a work shift where opportunities to wear it don't happen then I can go a year or so without wearing it but I do try to maintain it as it does hold a symbol to me in life. Most times when I wear it, it is to honor someone, maybe even me so when I do wear it, I want it looking as good as possible.

Typically Service Dress (Winter) or Tropical Blue Long (Summer) a couple of times a year depending on commitments. Once in a while Dinner Dress Blue/White Jacket for really formal things (my wife's favorite uniform ;-))

Otherwise it's utilities....

It is fairly rare that we wear our ASU's for anything in the Guard. However, while I was a ROTC cadet, we wore the dress uniform several times a term and for many ceremonies and other events.

Twice in the last four years not counting DA photos (twice for that I believe). Wore I a lot the previous three years as a recruiter and have worn it 5 times already since arriving at the school house since August. Probably twice every 3 months now.

Im retired but probably wear mine more than many active troops. I can easily count 6 times, Vets Day, Memorial Day, Judging or giving awards at JROTC drill meets (3x), Army Ball;, ROA Banquet. There's 7 times!
